Challenge
Respond to a strategic urban mobility issue in record time.
Our solution
In 43 months of work, CIM, as part of the Grupo de Empresas (GdE) consortium which includes Alstom, Thales, Sofratesa and TSO, brought Panama’s second metro line into commercial service.
CIM designed, manufactured and installed the workshop equipment needed to maintain the trains and, through its Panamanian subsidiary TCP Rail, which employs more than 500 workers, carried out the track laying and catenary works.
With a length of 21 kilometres and 16 stations, Line 2 will be able to carry 40,000 passengers per hour and will offer users a fast and safe transport alternative.
